Hello! We’re Jason & Caroline
We help couples and individuals build stronger, more connected relationships—at home, at work, and in the world.
We believe the quality of our relationships shapes the quality of our lives. When we feel connected, understood, and supported, everything else tends to flow more easily—within us and between us.
We’ve been on our own relationship journey for over 30 years (with four grown children along the way), and we’re still learning. Leading workshops, retreats, and groups for couples is one of the great joys of our lives—it keeps us growing and “walking our talk.”
We’ve lived and worked across cultures—including France, the United States, and South America—and are now based between Barcelona and the US. We offer our work in English, Spanish, and French.
We also have a deep appreciation for the richness and complexity of multicultural relationships, and we welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, and orientations.

I believe that meaningful change happens when we attend to the whole person—mind, body, spirit. I hold a deep respect for each person’s capacity for growth and aim to create a space that feels both safe and engaged, where healing can unfold through a collaborative and attuned therapeutic relationship.
I am especially passionate about helping people move out of stuck, painful patterns and into more connected and intentional ways of living and relating.
My work is integrative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, grounded in Imago Relationship Therapy and informed by relational neuroscience, positive psychology, and somatic awareness. I work with individuals and couples to better understand the patterns that shape their experiences and relationships, and to move toward greater clarity, connection, and choice.
Alongside my clinical work, I serve as Director of Education and Training at the Imago Center of Washington DC and as faculty with the Imago International Training Institute, where I train and supervise therapists internationally.

Frequently Asked Questions
You’re in the right place
What is Imago therapy
Imago Therapy is about understanding your partner better, eliminating negativity and restoring passion. We use the dialogue to talk about difficult subjects in ways that are safe, positive and geared toward both people getting their needs met. It’s also about restoring joy, intimacy, and fun and sharing life together again.
Why would we choose Imago therapy over other types of couples therapy?
All couples therapies can provide helpful tools and support in many contexts. Imago Therapy works and is backed by practitioners and academics alike.
- It provides immediate relief.
- It builds both your capacity and competencies to handle conflict.
- It teaches you skills that are not dependent on your therapist.
Imago Therapy offers you and your partner the opportunity to understand patterns that leave you feeling stuck. It will also help you work with your differences rather than seeing everything as right or wrong. It will show you how your own story influences the way you experience your partner and the relationship.
Using the tools learned in therapy, couples report immediate improvement in communication and in connection. My job is to show you how you can turn a conflict into a connection. With practice you become much more effective at communication. Using the Imago dialogue involves the cerebral part of your brain rather than the “reptilian” brain that triggers adrenaline-induced fights or flights. So fighting, criticizing, judging and blaming get replaced by effective communication tools that allow you to understand each other better. As an Imago therapist, I will do a combination of teaching and coaching you on how to express your thoughts, feelings and needs, and I will coach your partner on hearing you fully. Using the dialogue, along with other tools you learn in therapy, will help you feel safe, close and connected again.
What will we experience in Imago couples therapy?
Imago Therapy is about understanding each other more deeply, eliminating negativity and restoring passion. We use the dialogue to talk about difficult subjects, and it is safe and positive.
I strive to provide a safe, unbiased and supportive environment for you and your partner to explore the places you feel stuck, create a new and fulfilling relationship vision, and learn how to help each other feel heard, understood and loved.
Using Imago tools, you will remove the blame, shame and criticism common in negative relationship patterns and transform your relationship into one full of understanding and deep connection. I teach you to understand your relationship triggers and reactive behaviors that may stem from unmet needs and how to respond to your partner in a healthy way that benefits you both.

Who should attend the Getting the Love You Want workshop?
- People beginning their committed relationship who want to avoid future problems.
- People in a committed relationship who wish to deepen their connection.
- People struggling in a relationship who wish to resolve current and past conflicts.
- People ambivalent about the state of their marriage and want one last effort to save their relationship.
What will we experience in a Getting the Love You Want workshop?
Our workshops are intensive experiences that help partners rediscover the joy of being together while using their relationship for personal change and growth. You will learn powerful skills that can radically transform your relationship.
We all know that when we fall in love, it’s an amazing experience! The world is a wonderful place and we are fully alive and connected. But all too often these magical feelings deteriorate into frustration and conflict. Before we know it we are in a relationship of diminished passion and connection, or even worse, we are in a relationship full of pain.
Imago Relationships is a proven program that restores energetic connection, passion and hope. The practical take-home tools of Imago are like a treasure often providing immediate relief for the struggling relationship. Or, helping those who just want to deepen an already good relationship.
What will we learn in a Getting the Love You Want workshop?
- Move away from blame, shame and criticism toward curiosity
- Share your frustrations in ways that don’t hurt your partner
- Build trust and safety in your relationship
- Successfully communicate your desires and requests
- Renew the passion, pleasure and intimacy of your relationship
What is the format of a Getting the Love You Want workshop?
- Short lectures to help you understand the journey that has brought you to this point in your life and how your past helps determine the life-partner you chose and the kinds of problems you eventually (and inevitably) encounter in that relationship.
- With our guidance, you’ll go inside yourself and gather information from your earlier years.
- You’ll work in your Imago workbook, helping you put into action the information you’ve gathered and synthesize old material into new learning.
- Learning the Imago Dialogue in a group setting, an amazingly powerful tool to help you safely communicate with your partner in a manner that will guarantee you both feel heard, respected and understood.
- Practicing these new skills with your partner in private break-out areas where your facilitators guide you through any difficulty.
Which is better, attending a workshop or going to weekly therapy? And if I want to attend a workshop, which should I do first?
Each provides a different and unique experience. We recommend going to a workshop as soon as you (and your partner, if you are a couple) can arrange it. The workshop experience has been demonstrated to achieve results comparable to 4-6 months of weekly therapy.
It provides a solid psycho-educational foundation to the personalized work that you (and your partner) then have an opportunity to integrate. However, some people like to become a little more familiar with the material and have the therapist familiar with them, before attending. I’d be happy to discuss your particular situation with you individually.
Individuals
What can I expect from individual therapy?
You’ll experience a safe and private environment to explore what’s getting in the way of having healthy relationships and living the life you truly want. We will work with you to understand the patterns in your past and current relationships to identify areas of growth and healing, and help you envision and create a life where successful relationships can thrive.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma or more we can help you understand what’s going on underneath the surface and work toward a healthier future.
